Riverbed has received Oracle Validated: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Expertise for its Riverbed Data Express platform. The solution is also available in Oracle Marketplace, following an announcement on October 21. Data Express is designed for transferring large datasets between enterprise environments and cloud platforms, including projects involving AI model training, analytics and multi-cloud migration.
The managed SaaS platform works without dedicated on-premises transfer hardware. Riverbed reports that, in applicable scenarios, its technology can move petabyte-scale datasets as much as ten times faster than standard transfer methods. The company also states that transfers between OCI, AWS, Azure and local infrastructure may reduce cloud egress costs by up to 90% compared with conventional approaches. These performance and cost figures are vendor claims and depend on deployment conditions.

Riverbed says availability through the Oracle Marketplace gives customers a further way to evaluate and deploy the service for cloud and AI projects.
